Serious Sam is officially back and it appears that Siberian Mayhem is only one of many expansions the developers have planned for the high-adrenaline arcade-action shooter. Additionally, every installment in the Serious Sam series includes a Workshop on Steam that features hundreds of mods and tools to extend longevity and is shared monthly by the developer. Compared to its predecessors, however, Siberian Mayhem was designed and developed with the help of some of the most popular Serious Sam modding community members, joined together under the name of Timelock Studio.Īs big as the series is, Croteam is largely known as a community-driven developer similar to studios like CD Projekt Red. Much like Siberian Mayhem, Croteam allowed Aligator Pit, an indie development team to create a unified version of the first two games in 2019 with an additional campaign called Serious Sam Classics: Revolution. Set in Russia and featuring the return of General Brand, Croteam has stated that the title's gameplay will be more action-oriented than Serious Sam 4's and will feature a hybrid experience for both fans of classics, and the latest installments to the series. Officially announced on Steam, Croteam has revealed Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, a stand-alone expansion to Serious Sam 4 in collaboration with Timelock Studio set to release on January 25th on PC. Originally starting out as a project to combine horde-style gameplay and DOOM with modern graphics, the series went on to release multiple installments spanning over two decades. While being compared to Duke Nukem due to its protagonist and alien plot, the series had a tight budget compared to its contemporaries and often skipped out on the production value, doubling down on its gameplay gimmick which featured arena-style combat, bigger and more enemies on the screen and better weapons to kill them with. You can get all these games at as the underdog in its genre for almost 20 years, the Serious Sam series built a cult following by promising fast-paced, large-scale battles with an arsenal of weapons and a dissident yet hilarious protagonist that spewed one-liners. It was discounted so many times that it's hard to believe that there is someone out there who doesn't have it. Serious Fantasy Legends 2.0 (Content Patch 1) Mod Posted over 10 years ago. The game also doesnt look that good, and the familiar po-in from SS4 in still present. The third and final game is Serious Sam 3: BFE, a game that needs no introduction. To make things worse, the more intensive the scene is, the lower the GPU usage is, which leads to low FPS and not to mention that the frametimes are all over the place. Build things that you’ve only thought about in your wildest dreams, and collaborate with other players to create a crazy silly world,” reads the synopsis for Garry’s Mod. Garry’s Mod is a virtual playground for just about anything that you can imagine, allowing you to create your own contraptions and do whatever you please. “In this physics sandbox, the world is at your fingertips. Garry’s Mod is the second title on the list and it's not exactly a game per se, but more like a physics sandbox. Natural Selection 2 flawlessly combines a multiplayer first-person shooter with real-time strategy elements for a game that is addictive, immersive and exciting! The tightly designed shooting mechanics combined with intricate maps create a competitive challenge for all players,” reads the synopsis. “Choose to play as a bootstrapped Marine or a beastly alien in the action-packed battle for ultimate survival. Natural Selection 2 is the first in this collection and it's also the one with the best graphics, fighting with Serious Sam 3: BFE for this crown. Humble Jumbo Bundle integrates, so far, a number of six games: Natural Selection 2, Sanctum 2, Magicka, Orcs Must Die! 2: Complete Pack, Garry’s Mod, and Serious Sam 3: BFE.Īmong these six initial games (more will be added in the next few days), only three of them have native Linux clients and the other three don't even have hints about Linux support, either now or in the future. This is an unusual Humble Bundle, because most of the collections released so far either had full Linux support or none at all, like the one for the games in the Electronic Arts portfolio. The new Humble Jumbo Bundle incorporates a lot of good games and some of them actually feature native Linux support.
